Meet Your New Coach

Hi! I'm Denise.

You may not believe this but I made it through 7 years of schooling before a teacher realized I couldn't read.  This also interfered with my ability to get good grades in math.  I could add, subtract, multiple and divide but I couldn’t read the essay question to tell you how many Apples Johnny was left with after Sally took 3 of his 5.  Once I learned to read I flourished in math and many other areas.

I began my career in 1982 enlisting in the Army which began my 40+ years in the world of finance and dedication to our great Nation.  I was in Heidelberg Germany where I served until making a career change in 1992 transitioning to Federal Service working as an Accounting Technician.  My Inspiration stems from escaping a dysfunctional marriage of 13 years finding myself happily divorced while raising 3 beautiful children on a single paycheck and trying to make ends meet.  I will never forget the day I decided to take charge of my finances and plan my way to financial success using an excel spreadsheet.  Over time I became debt free, purchased my first home, funded my retirement account, invested, traveled, and so much more because I was finally empowered!

As I advanced in my career let's fast forward to 2009 when I landed my dream job in Kaiserslautern Germany!  Over the next 5 years I taught 10s of thousands of people about personal finances and found this came naturally to me.  When my term was up I moved to Wiesbaden Germany to work in Budget until finally coming home for my final assignment as an Accountant at DFAS Cleveland in Ohio until retiring in 2020.

I opened my private practice as a financial coach and counselor at the onset of COVID-19.   Watching so many people struggle, I quickly acted and became a member of a COVID-19 response team that provided emergency financial counseling to those in need.  At the same time began working as a Ramsey Preferred Coach but decided to branch out.

Now my private practice has evolved into helping veterans through VBBP, also working with businesses to incorporate financial literacy as a wellness benefit and have individual clientele worldwide.  Because of my life experiences I am able to assist the underserved and disabled communities as well.

I love watching my clients evolve and become empowered to take charge and succeed both professionally and personally as they Deal With Dollar$.

Today I am excited about my new venture as a coach on MyBudgetCoach so I can reach even more people and guide them on the path to financial freedom!

What does a normal workday look like for me?  Working with as many clients as possible so they can reach their SMART goals.  At while attending continued education on financial literacy to stay up with the times while being an active member in my community helping the underserved.  When I turn off my system that's when I enjoy my 5 amazing grandchildren, take long walks with my dog, travel, read, draw, dance, and continue sharing my passion and knowledge in the all encompassing world of personal finance.
