I'm Nia. I'm born and raised in Chicago but recently moved to the ATL area. When I'm not minding our money you usually can catch me traveling the world or experiencing culture.
I founded Perspectives in 2017 after experiences my own financial fumbles. After becoming a single mother at 17, I faced many financial obstacles that caused mismanagement of money and maxed out credit cards; I didn't always prioritize money matters. I suffered in silence alone as I muscled through eviction, foreclosure, and bankruptcy. After changing my perspectives about money, I bought her first home at 27, paid my way through undergrad, and later paid off $57K in debt in two years.
Perspectives consists of providing realistic solutions to real-life money problems for anyone overcoming internal roadblocks preventing them from reaching financial goals. Perspectives fosters an environment that makes personal finance concepts relatable and helps students gain confidence in their finances without losing themselves.
I'm the author of Budgets, Mindsets, & Money Moves and Life is Short, Buy the House.
I leveraged my experiences, knowledge, and education to become a Financial Education Coach and Consultant, International speaker, and Real Estate Investor. In addition to being featured in many major publications, such as CNN Underscored, Go Banking Rates, NerdWallet, and others. I hold a MBA in Finance, I'm a Certified Financial Education Instructor, and a four-time author.
Money management is a form of self-care.
Some fine print about our fine coaches.
